About The Art Ministry
A number of vacancies exist for the role of Trustee of The Art Ministry. The Art Ministry is based in Hadleigh, Essex, and provides subsidised classes in arts and crafts for a wide variety of groups in the community, particularly for the less able. The classes enable their members to develop their creativity and experience social interaction.
About the role of Trustees
A Trustee is a voluntary, but legally recognised role, and would be a member of The Art Ministry’s Board of Trustees. This Board ensures compliance with regulation, and with The Art Ministry’s objects, as well as helping to promote and manage The Art Ministry.
The Board meets four times a year on average, in the evening in Hadleigh. In addition Trustees may meet as member of specialist committees, or to help promote The Art Ministry.
Trustees will be required to read documents prepared for The Board, participate in and lead Board discussions, and provide guidance on new initiatives.
Skills desirable of a Trustee
Willing and able to give their time and effort to The Art Ministry
Capable of considering matters relating to the future direction of The Art Ministry
An understanding and acceptance of the duties of a Trustee
Willingness to work within the regulatory framework
Good team player
Able to think independently
Experience desirable of a Trustee
The Art Ministry is particularly interested in recruiting people with experience in one or more of the following:
teaching and/or creation of arts and crafts
volunteering, either as a volunteer or recruiting volunteers
accounting, particularly book-keeping
governance of charities
health and safely, including risk assessment and control
secretarial duties to a committee
Training
Appropriate training with be provided.
