UCS Union is the representative body for students of University Campus Suffolk and is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. The Union is a developing and growing organisation focused on improving all aspects of the student experience at UCS, from campaigning to improve students’ education to proving student-led activities and services. It provides a wide range of services for its members at the main Ipswich campus and also across the UCS Network at Bury St Edmunds, Otley, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.
The Union has exempt charitable status and is currently pursuing registered charity status. It has annual revenues of over £200k and employs ten staff. The Union’s subsidiary trading company operates three commercial outlets, turning over £700k and employing 20 staff.
We are looking for three resourceful, determined and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help us to continue to improve the services that we provide for our members.
The right candidates will have substantial experience in key and specific areas, gained in either the public, private or voluntary sector. We are specifically looking for individuals with HR, Finance, Marketing & Business Development experience. In addition candidates will have a track record of forging partnerships and of dealing with wider strategic issues; they will command confidence, have sound judgement, the ability to think strategically and corporately and have strong communication skills; they will be excellent role models and effective leaders.
