Summary of Cover

Is the cover for charities or individuals?

This cover is for individual trustees, directors or management committee members of UK based charitable organisations who take out insurance for themselves to cover any number of trusteeships they may hold.

Who is covered?

Any person who is a director, trustee, committee member or member of the governing body of any UK based charitable, voluntary or community organisations on whose behalf they are working, other than registered landlords or educational establishments.

What is covered?

You are covered for your personal liability for legal defence costs and damages which you are legally liable for in your capacity as an officer by reason of your alleged maladministration, such as breach of duty, breach of trust or breach of contract. Cover applies when no other alternative cover is provided by your organisation. The policy will also cover incidents that may have occurred up to 12 months prior to you joining the scheme provided you are not aware of any such incidents when you join.

How much am I covered for?

The policy will pay up to a maximum of £25,000 for legal defence costs or damages in any one policy year.

How long does my cover last?

You are covered for one year from the date you join trusteenet plus.

What about Scotland and Northern Ireland?

Organisations in Scotland and Northern Ireland are covered under the policy.
