This is an issue which came out of discussions at the Practical Trusteeship conference on 14th May. If anyone has any thoughts or experiences they could share on this subject please do.

Does anyone know whether you can get easy-read information for people with learning difficulties about the duties of trustees?

 “We’re having a real problem with trustee retention.

We have never had letters of appointment for new trustees and I am now being asked to produce one.

how effective is your board in governing your organisation?

It's not very easy to answer and even more difficult to assess using the various codes of practice which are available to us.

a possible solution to this dilemma could be a new assessment framework, investing in governance, which I have recently developed as a result of extensive studies surveys and practice.

Our treasurer retired and so far we've not found anyone to replace him. We have a very good chief accountant, and he and I are trying to fill the gap.

Does the CE assemble the relevant information and arguments so the trustees understand the implications of their decision

We are looking to recruit a new chief exec but are concerned that no one has HR experience - are there people who can advise us (preferably at no cost) on basic dos and donts.....
