Trustee accredited learning

The Governance and UK Workforce Hubs have worked with an advisory group (consisting of voluntary and community sector trustees and relevant stakeholders) to develop a suite of accredited learning units, which make up the nationally accredited learning programme.  This is the first nationally accredited learning programme specifically for trustees/board members.

There are 10 units covering a wide range of subject areas, including: 

  • Understanding the terminology of the voluntary and community sector 
  • Introduction to/understanding the role and responsibilities of a trustee
  • Understanding/applying good governance
  • Strategic planning    
  • Organisations review    
  • Reviewing the functioning of the board
  • Risk assessment            
  • Collaborative working and merger
