Questions trustees should ask themselves - by Julia Unwin

Julia Unwin, Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, gave the keynote speech at CTN's networking lunch and lecture at York Racecourse on 9th November 2007. Julia encouraged trustees to ask 3 key questions of themselves –

• Why are we here?
• Who are we?
• What are we doing?

Each of these questions highlights a key aspect of governance, and by answering them trustee boards will be more aware of their own ways of working and how they can perform more effectively.
