BoardsCount - a new benchmarking initiative

BoardsCount is a new benchmarking initiative focused specifically on governance in the UK Voluntary and Community sector. The benefit for participating organisations is that they will get a clear picture of how the governance practices in their organisation compare with those in other third sector organisations.  Participating in the service will also help charities assess how far their organisation complies with the new Code of Governance.

It will provide the tools to:

• Position the board to be more effective for the future
• Support efforts in developing and retaining great board members
• Provide early warning signs of potential issues
• Give reassurance for what is already working well
• Help determine priorities for action
• Motivate board members by seeing what is possible
• Set meaningful and realistic targets
• Gain new insights on good practice
