Finding a treasurer

Our treasurer retired and so far we've not found anyone to replace him. We have a very good chief accountant, and he and I are trying to fill the gap. But it's not ideal.
My question is: Does anyone have any advice on good places to try and recruit a Treasurer? We would not expect to pay more than expenses.
I wondered whether, for example, there is a body who places 'volunteers' with professional experience. Or whether any of the banks or other companies second staff to do voluntary work.
We have a turnover in excess of £1m so we are looking for someone who has good qualifications, and the ability to think strategically.
