Collaboration and Mergers for Trustees - Bristol

Event runs between 09:30 and 11:30

A free seminar for trustees, from NCVO and Voscur, funded by the Dulverton Trust. Working in collaboration with other voluntary organisations can make your organisation more effective, efficient and resilient.

As a trustee, you have a duty to direct the resources of the charity, which you hold `in trust’, to further its objectives for the benefit of the charities users. You have particular duties and responsibilities with regard to collaboration and merger.

NCVO’s recent Charity Forecast survey showed that 74% of sector leaders anticipate more collaboration in the next year, coupled with 62% who felt that competition for resources will increase in the next year. Collaboration is a key strategy to help your organisation deal with potential reduction in funding and a changing economic and funding environment.

This seminar is intended to help Trustees:

  • Understand the drivers for collaboration and merger
  • Understand their duties and responsibilities in relation to collaboration and merger
  • Understand the different models for collaboration and merger
  • Know what kind of information you might need to help make strategic decisions about collaboration and merger

Venue: Barton Hill Settlement, Ducie Road, Bristol, BS5 0AX
